Mavericks vs Trail Blazers 4/19/11 Game 2 ADS

2 games down, but how many to go? The Mavs get another win no thanks to a low ADS, but isn't that the beauty of this stat? All season long it had normally been the team with the lower ADS that comes out the victor. Yet here we are two games in the playoffs and the Mavs have proven that if you can hit your shots you don't have to own the paint. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves though, because numbers are still telling us that Dallas is allowing Portland to have the inside advantage and though it may be working right now; allowing teams to get to the basket while you bank on making the long shots isn't the safest way to win the championship.

Take a look at the quarter by quarter break down. Seems the 3rd is giving the Mavericks the the most problem for a second game straight. Is this a scary trend or all part of the plan for Carlisle and his Mavs?

Side Notes
- Nowitzki scored a game-high 33 points.
- Dallas bench outscored Portland's 39-11.
- Nowitzki is 28-for-30 at the free-throw line in the series, that's a lot of free throws in just two games.
- Brandon Roy continues to mope as he played just under eight minutes and misses his one shot and two free throws. As we laugh at his misfortunes, lets not poke the sleeping bear too much.
