A Tradition Unlike Any Other

One of my very favorite weekends of the year is upon us. It is time for the beautiful Masters again, and I am geared up to watch plenty of golf. Sadly, it looks like weather is going to be an issue early on, as there looks to be plenty of rain today and tomorrow.

Nevertheless, lets get it going. Let’s watch Tiger, Els, Phil, and Vijay duel it out. I cannot wait.

Here is a live camera that is trained on the practice tee…

Here are the tv listings …Remember, this is the tournament that doesn’t like to televise too much of its golf…

Dave Anderson on Tiger’s mission

TIGER WOODS has a new swing and a new ball, but he also has a new burden: winning a major this year, if only to keep the jackals away.

It doesn't have to be the Masters, which begins today. But if Woods does not win here, or at the United States Open at Pinehurst No. 2, or at the British Open at St. Andrews, or at the P.G.A. Championship at Baltusrol, he will have stirred more scrutiny than ever for having come away without a trophy in 14 consecutive majors since the 2002 United States Open at Bethpage Black.

If Woods wins even one of the four majors this year, all will be well in his world. At age 29, he would be on pace to surpass Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 majors.
But with each major Woods doesn't win, the heavier the burden will be at his next one. After having won 8 of his first 22 majors as a pro, he is 0 for his last 10.

What you are about to see is not a joke. This is not someone doing Photoshop of our dear friend and former producer, Rick Arnett. He really has been hired by CNNSI.com to be their “golf expert”. I swear. Way to go, Rick!

Keyshawn unhappy with contract?

Receiver Keyshawn Johnson laughed Wednesday at an ESPN report that had the Cowboys potentially drafting Southern California receiver Mike Williams because Johnson was disgruntled about his contract.

Johnson said he talked to coach Bill Parcells and vice president Stephen Jones about his future, but "I have never had discussions about a new contract."
After catching 70 passes for 981 yards and six touchdowns in 2004, does he believe he is worth more than the $1.5 million base salary he is set to earn next season?
Of course.

But Johnson said he plans to honor his deal and has proved as much by making all but one of his off-season workouts.

"I am content where I am because I see the big picture," Johnson said. "And I don't operate like that with Bill, not with him. We have a friendship and relationship that works. Besides, if I had a problem with my contract, I wouldn't be working out. I wouldn't be running."

Johnson said he missed one workout because he was on a flight.

Williams will visit the Cowboys next week along with 19 other draft prospects -- though it's not likely Williams will be available when the Cowboys pick at No. 11.

Yes, we won, but 47 at-bats and ZERO walks? Five runs in the first two games (21 innings at that)? Blalock is 0-for-8 (but at least three walks in game 1). This team isn't going to go far on the strength of its pitching and defense...

We're tied for first place. I'm afraid we won't have long to enjoy this.

If you are going to crack on soccer/Star Wars fans at least spell "JEOPARDY" correctly.
No worries mate.

Obviously, in your mind Americans are the ultimate decision-makers as to what is interesting and what's boring huh? The rest of the world is just crazy. I mean baseball, the NATIONAL pastime, that's not boring, not at all. Golf, no one could call that boring. And, obviously, you only played soccer for a little while, found it too difficult to master and moved on. Honestly, my father tried to sell me on it as a kid, and i didn't grow to really enjoy it until I started playing intramurals in college. Now I appreciate, the skill, the speed, the imagination, and the anticipation of the next strike. But hey, maybe you're someone who doesn't appreciate skill and creativity.

amen FAT BRAD, AMEN! I would love to see how someone with Allen Iverson's ability would perform on the pitch, but you may have noticed that most of the great creative players in soccer aren't much over 6" so that eliminates many of the basketball players. And you may have noticed, Argentina, a country known for its soccer, is on the map when it comes to basketball (gold medal in the last Olympics), so not all the athletes go into soccer anymore.Same holds true for other countries (France, Serbia & Montenegro, Spain) With baseball players, some could be good, some couldn't. I don't imagine that Curt Schilling would be a great soccer player, after all baseball players are more recognized for their hand-eye coordination and their ability to throw than their speed. Now with football players, you have a point, but with only the corner backs and the running backs might you have a point. They are the right height where they could excel at the sport. And don't get it twisted, there are excellent athletes playing in the MLS and the men's national team. But Landon Donovan is 5' 8", could he really play professional basketball or football?

Got to agree with Coach Cullen - Got to tivo Kumars at No. 42 on BBCA. I'm an Indian so I think it's particularly funny making fun of my kind but I'm not sure if everyone else will or not. An even better show is an Indian sketch comedy show called "Goodness Gracious Me" on BBCA as well. Hilarious and it's more sketch comedy while Kumars is a talk show...

Bob and anyone else,
Did anyone besides me notice that during the Ranger's game the shot of Tom Hicks and some other guy wearing the exact same shirt? They both had black polos and a grey (gray) sweater vest. I think matching is unintentional comedy at its best, and when two dudes do it, trouble.
